Folio: Exchange District, Winnipeg

I love revelations and feel compelled to share my excitement with new discoveries. Having never visited Winnipeg prior to the day I made these photographs, my preconceived ideas of what this sprawling prairie railroad city was like were not entirely complimentary. So stumbling upon this incredible and diverse architecture on what was a blazingly hot, humid summer afternoon, was truly enlightening. What began as simply a casual "capture" of the Nutty Club building, quickly became an obsession of lines and shapes and textures and colour, reflective of not just the Exchange District, but of my ebullient mood in making these photographs.
